PERSONAL AND
PROFESSIONAL COACHING

Coaching conversations offer a confidential space and empathic thinking partner to focus on what really matters to you.
By slowing down, being curious, noticing and reflecting with an empathic and responsive other, you empower your own creative thinking, deeper understanding and ability to plan strategically for what to do next.
Coaching and supervision may bring many benefits, including:
-
An opportunity to focus deeply on yourself, a current situation or a particular issue.
-
Empowering your own imagination and creative solution finding.
-
Exploring feelings of 'stuck-ness', overwhelm or burnout and drawing upon your whole self to find solutions or ways forward.
-
Identifying your true values so that you deepen your motivation and sense of purpose.
-
Building resilience and resourcefulness.
-
Creating, developing and practising perspectives and strategies that will sustain you in your day to day experiences.

TESTIMONIALS FROM COACHING CLIENTS
KEY ELEMENTS IN MY COACHING APPROACH:

A CONFIDENTIAL, PERSONAL SPACE
Coaching offers you a confidential space to slow down, notice, feel and think with an empathic and responsive other. It is an opportunity to pause, to reflect, gain a fresh perspective and then return to the world again with renewed energy and insight. The session can be varied and there may be laughter, emotion, the use of coaching 'tools' or periods of silence to think and process. It is always focused upon and individual to you. You set your own goals and are in charge at all times of what you do and don't want to discuss.

A PROCESS OF
REFLECTIVE ENQUIRY
You may bring a particular issue, theme or question to explore and this is where we will begin. As we explore it together, this question sometimes changes, produces other questions or ideas, or deepens as the conversation progresses. At other times, there may simply be a need to unpack whatever is present for you in the moment. By noticing, reflecting and being curious together, the process supports a resilient, forward-looking approach and empowers your own 'observer mind'.

EXPLORING YOUR OWN DEEPER UNDERSTANDING
Coaching conversations are an opportunity to consider carefully whatever arises. Moving through the initial 'not knowing' with curiosity and compassion, expanding your awareness of yourself, accessing your own deeper understanding and increasing the range of choices that you have. Coaching is an approach based on the belief that, with space to think and feel with an attentive other, we are each creative, resourceful and whole.

I have a particular interest in coaching older people and those who are focused upon their later life experiences.
Contact me if you would like to arrange an informal 20 minute online conversation, without obligation, to find out more about any aspect of coaching with me.

LEADERSHIP SUPPORT,
QUALITY ASSURANCE,
COACHING AND SUPERVISION
WITHIN ORGANISATIONS
All of the services that I offer are based within a careful and focused approach. Attention to detail and sensitivity to the relationships and dynamics between individuals and within teams are particular strengths. With many years experience in early education and children's centres, I have also expanded my experience into care and nursing homes and have a familiarity with the principles of the Eden Alternative approach.

In 2020, I completed the taught and practical module of a Post Graduate Certificate in Personal and Business Coaching with Barefoot Coaching. I am now a member of the International Coaching Federation and achieved Associate Certified Coach (ACC) status in March 2022.
A coaching approach within an organisation creates sustainable quality, personal well-being and creative space for strategic thinking. I would be very pleased to talk more about the possible models that may facilitate this in your organisation.

Services are always individually tailored to your own particular needs and objectives. Below are examples of the main themes of my work in organisations to date and testimonials from previous and existing clients . Please contact me to discuss your own perspective and ideas on how I may be able to support you or your organisation.

LEADERSHIP
CAPACITY
Consultation to provide additional short term, leadership capacity for your specific needs.  This may mean a thorough completion of tasks that underpin the quality of your service, but which you struggle to find time for. It could also be the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of a particular project; analysis of data or the creation of a relevant, shared action plan or report.

QUALITY
ASSURANCE
Working together with you and your team, we can define what quality means for you and how this is underpinned by the values of your organisation. Where appropriate, this can be referenced to the standards and evidence requirements of your relevant regulatory body. Carefully and progressively embedding this quality awareness into everyday practice, we can support the whole organisation to work coherently with your values towards a shared vision and attainable goals.

COACHING &
SUPERVISION
My approach to working with teams is rooted in an empowering structure of consultation, coaching and supportive supervision with individual team members. This provides a coherent and consistent body of support for the team and gives opportunity for learning and feedback to leaders. It is key in evidencing quality standards, whilst also putting responsive, meaningful staff development and well-being at the heart the organisation.

FOR CARE SETTINGS
COACHING FOR CARE LEADERS
Would you or a colleague like some ring-fenced time, confidential space and an empathic listener to put the world on pause. To reflect, think, plan and gain a fresh perspective on a particular issue, challenge or situation?
As everyone is aware, the last couple of years have been a particularly difficult and demanding time for those working in social care.

Nor are the challenges over yet.
Balancing the safety and needs of elders, residents, families and team members; keeping abreast of fast changing regulations; recruiting and retaining capable, motivated team members and maintaining quality of care are just a few of the urgent concerns for leaders. Having an opportunity in the midst of all this to look after oneself, to reflect and to consider the lived-out values that are so essential to true person-centred care may seem almost impossible.
A coach is often described as a ’thinking partner’.
Rather than giving advice or using therapeutic approaches, a coach is focused on working with people to expand their own thinking, creativity and resourcefulness when they feel challenged. This may be thinking through and gaining a perspective on the options around a practical question or issue, or an opportunity to reflect on and clarify their own values, purpose and motivation. Coaching is now often used in business and corporate organisations to empower creative solution finding and prevent burnout. It is cited as a strategy to embed well-being in the Government’s current policy paper, Putting People At The Heart Of Care.
Clear agreement and contracting ensures that the coaching conversaton is completely confidential and focused on what is important and interesting to you. You are in charge at all times. The process is separate from, and complimentary to, existing line management or supervision structures, and supports the person to return to their roles with renewed energy and insight
Having had experience in supporting leaders of care and education settings, I am especially interested in researching further how coaching conversations can support those trying to do so much for others. Working with leaders in the care sector would give me an opportunity to gain further understanding of the kind of coaching support that those working in these challenging and essential services would find useful and may also provide the possibility of testimonials or referrals.
I am a qualified and accredited member of the International Coaching Federation and abide strictly by their code of ethics. I have full insurance and ongoing, online DBS clearance to work with vulnerable adults and with children.
